Match report - AOK Cup 7s semi-final

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, the 7s AOK Cup semi-final with the match between FC Treptow 7s I and FC Treptow 7s II was played at the Willi-Sänger sports complex.

After the usual team photos, a minute of silence was observed to commemorate the war in Ukraine.

From the start of the match, the 7s II team seized the initiative and won a penalty in the 2nd minute. Reza Haidari deliberately placed the ball well wide of the goal. A fair gesture that proved decisive for the entire game. In the first half, both teams cancelled each other out, resulting in no scoring opportunities for either side.

Ten minutes after the restart of the second half, Treptow I took a 1-0 lead through a fine individual effort by Maxime. Treptow II's efforts were rewarded when Saburi equalized at 1-1. In the eventful second half, Treptow I went ahead 2-1 through Jimmy, but Treptow II quickly leveled the score at 2-2.

Just as players and spectators were preparing for a penalty shootout, Treptow I scored the winning goal, 3-2, after a successful combination finished by Jimmy, thus securing their place in the cup final. Treptow I's victory against the slightly favored Treptow II was also achieved through a masterful tactical performance.

Now we eagerly await the final on Whit Monday, June 6th, 2022 against Stern Marienfelde.

The unusual day ended with a communal barbecue. / WD
